As of the week ending July 28, 2024, the latest in the SF Diocese is that they will begin celebrating their Novus Ordo Masses in "Ad Orientem" regularly.  This term means "to the East" in Latin.  This is exciting news for traditionalists throughout the SF Bay Area as it denotes a break-through in bringing back a small but important tradition which was pushed aside after Vatican Council II in the mid 1960's.  Of course, this has always been part of the Extraordinary Form (Tridentine Mass) aka the Traditional Latin Mass.

For Traditional Catholics looking for a solid "Traditional Latin Mass" St. Margaret Mary (Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest aka ICKSP) is available in Oakland, CA.
